The Wolfpack: Improv Dance Class

The Wolfpack: Improv Dance Class

Using organic and primal imagery such as being reborn in the river, opening the throat chakra by howling at the moon, and having the autonomy to showcase each artist’s individual voice in an accumulating class—The Wolfpack is a home for dancers of any style to come and be heard.

It is essential to the heart of The Wolfpack to celebrate individuals who go against the grain in pursuit of sharing their own stories and concepts that support the pack of like-minded individuals.

Regardless of the voice leading the pack, our agreements are as follows:

🐺 We are an improvisation collective

🐺 We investigate freedom, confidence, and healing through movement

🐺 We are guided by nature and the healing properties found within channeling these archetypes

🐺 We obnoxiously celebrate each participant

JOIN US in the FREE class offered to our community and beyond!

This Wolfpack will be lead by Reign Drop!

The Chain by Jesse Robkin (It’s Alive!! New Works Series)

The Chain by Jesse Robkin (It’s Alive!! New Works Series)

It's Alive!! is Genderfucked Production's experimental laboratory for transgender and nonbinary playwrights to develop their new creations.  The playwright has the opportunity to workshop their play with a director, cast, and dramaturg.  This event gives you the opportunity to see the work rise and take its first steps as a staged reading, and discuss it with its creators.

For the inaugural workshop cycle presents The Chain by Jesse Robkin:

Isabelle is a pretty ordinary transgender girl: she has dreams of becoming a dancer, she suffers from depression and body image issues, and she has a family who just doesn't "get" her. Oh, and she's spent her entire life naked and chained to the wall by her pelvis. This allegory for gender dysphoria and visible transphobia is an absurdist twist on the classic American living room drama.

An audience talkback will follow the reading.

The venue is on the ground floor and will take place in a dog hotel, however no dogs will be present during the performance and air filters will be used to minimize allergens. Seating is first come first served. If you are unable to stand or sit on the floor for the length of the event (2.5 hours), please make note of this in your ticket order and we will happily reserve a seat for you.

For the safety of our cast, we ask that audience members wear facemasks for the duration of the event.

Content Disclosure Information: as the play is currently being workshopped, we cannot provide a full disclosure on charged or sensitive material as of yet. A content disclosure will be sent to ticket holders and updated on our event page as soon as we have one. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to producer Reg Linn (try.mx.linn@gmail.com).

Queer Dance Freakout: Spring Fling

Queer Dance Freakout: Spring Fling

Queer Dance Freakout is an interactive choose-your-own-adventure-spectacle, inspired by the Neo-Futurists Infinite Wrench. Our company is composed of queer, trans, and/or nonbinary artists & storytellers, who perform an array of devised performance art pieces. We aim to have audiences booty shaking, grooving, and connecting with the larger queer community.

Each of our original pieces are around 4 minutes in length, and the audience queues the order of these pieces from our “playlist” by verbally calling out the next piece they want to see. Queer Dance Freakout is ever changing; every piece and performance the company writes and choreographs is created from our own life experiences! No Freakout performance is the same as we devise new work every season (and repeat some of our favorites). We can't wait to freakout with you!

Unfortunately, this venue is not ADA accessible as it is up a large flight of stairs (20+ stairs). Seating is first come first served. If you are unable to stand for the length of the performance (60 minutes), please make note of this in your ticket order and we will happily reserve a seat for you.

Our tickets are sliding scale for accessibility. If you are unable to pay the base price, we offer subsidized ticket price for low-income individuals and members of the BIPOC or TGNC community. If the discounted rate is not within reach, please email genderphucked@gmail.com the level of assistance you need and we will happily accommodate.

Content Disclosure Information: The company is currently still developing material that will be included in this show, thus cannot provide a full disclosure on charged or sensitive material as of yet. A content disclosure will be sent to ticket holders and updated on our event page as soon as we have one. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to intimacy director Bianca Thompson (biancalegardathompson@gmail.com).

Chicago DanzTheatre: QDF X Trash Babylon

For one night only, Chicago Danztheatre Ensemble presents Alix Schillaci's Trash Babylon and Gender Fucked Productions Queer Dance Freakout.

Trash Babylon is an origin story. After a glittering birth- giant and magical femme creatures emerge to roam a post-climate-disaster Earth. Tasked with caring for what and who are left they must build a reimaged, sustainable world from the trash and love leftover. However, before the work can begin, they must learn if they are heroes or villains.

This first draft is the result of in-studio conversation and movement building exploring death anxiety, aging, decay, unstoppable change, and a cultural obsession with youth; as well as rebirth, reinvention, and how to maintain a sense of ourselves as we change along with the world. We started by asking:: What hurts? What’s scary? What would help?
