Associate Artistic Director

We are looking for trans artistic leaders to help us guide Gender Fucked Productions! Below is a short list of responsibilities associated with this leadership position.

  • Perform outreach to a diversity of local communities

  • Inclusive recruitment of org and project members

  • Responsible for the enhancement of GFP’s image by being active and visible in the community and by working closely with other professional, civic and private organizations.

  • Oversees (or co-oversees) the Producer Mentorship Program.

  • Leads (or co-leads) Executive/Producer Meetings.

  • Lead (or co-leads) casting within all programs.

  • Works closely with Artistic Director and producer Cohort to bring on new projects

  • Develops SOPs with other Director level administrators

We prioritize people with experience serving BIPOC, trans, and GNC artists in our application process. This is a contract position paid at $200/month.

Associate Producers
(Producer Mentorship Program)

We are hiring associate producers and we want you QTs to join our team! Let’s get trans people hired this summer. The projects hiring are Metamorphosis, Queer Dance Freakout, Trans Voices Cabaret, and T4T Open Mics.

Metamorphosis

Metamorphosis is Gender Fucked’s playwright-in-residency program. An associate producer is sought to tend to the logistical needs of the residency program. Candidates with playwriting/script writing experience HEAVILY preferred 

Job duties include:

  • Timeline management

  • Interviewing, invoicing, and contracting artists

  • Procurement and preparation of rehearsal and performance spaces

  • Tending to program communications (email, social media)

  • Fundraising

  • Providing script feedback

Queer Dance Freakout

Queer Dance Freakout is an interactive performance spectacle! This company of queer, trans, and nonbinary choreographers and storytellers will perform a variety of devised, dance, and performance art pieces that will have audiences booty shaking, grooving, and connecting with the queer community. The audience adds singles and playlist to the queue by voting for the dances they want to see. Queer Dance Freakout is ever changing as each performance the company writes and choreographs new pieces so no Freakout is the same as before.

  • Assist with event creation and management of all production elements 

  • Invoice and contract artists

  • Book rehearsal space, venues, videographer, and photographer

  • Work in tandem with stage manager on artist management and tech elements

  • Marketing, ticketing, and creation of programs

  • Relationship management with additional orgs

Trans Voices Cabaret

Trans Voices Cabaret hosts an evening for Chicago’s best Trans and Gender Non-Conforming artists to step up to the mic! Join us to break the binary, celebrate queer/trans joy, and sing the house down! 

Trans Voices Cabaret is currently looking for TGNC individuals with an interest in gaining experience in producing. As an Associate Producer, responsibilities could include, but are not limited to: 

  • Assist with event creation and management of all production elements 
    Invoicing

  • Contracting Artists

  • Support Securing Performance Spaces

  • Schedule Team Lead meetings 

  • Production Timeline Management

Producers are not required to be in all rehearsals for this project, but required to be at all performances.

T4T Open Mics

T4T open mics are events made by and for our community to give trans people the chance to perform onstage with little to no barriers. We strive to support emerging trans artists and storytellers from all walks of life by giving them a platform to work on their projects and to see themselves reflected in our audiences. We primarily produce our open mics with community partners on the South and West side and all open mics are suggested donation, no one turned away for lack of funds! From comedy and singing to live painting, poetry, dance, and so much more!

 As an Associate Producer, responsibilities could include, but are not limited to: 

  • Assist with event creation and management of all production elements 

  • Support Securing Performance Spaces

  • Schedule Team Lead meetings 

  • Production Timeline Management

  • Artist sign up 

  • Artist communication

  • Community partner relationship management

Producers are required to be at all performances.

All positions are paid $1,000 in total stipends over the course of a year! Payment timeline depends on the project and hours worked. We prioritize people with experience serving BIPOC, trans, and GNC artists in our application process.
